It’s not very clear and you’re not the only who find this baffling. The reason why it’s grayed out because after the scan Kaspersky automatically disinfected or deleted the malware. You don’t need to do anything at all. What you see in ‘Detected’ is a backup copy of the threat so that you can restore or treat it later when an opportunity arises. All you doing is deleting the backup copy from ‘Detected’.
Go to ‘Help’ then go to the ‘Index’ tab and then scroll down to ‘Scan: action on deleted object’ and hit ‘Display’ and you will see this
‘When disinfecting or deleting an object, the application creates a backup copy in case the object needs to be restored, or an opportunity arises later to treat it.’
‘If you are working in the automatic mode, the application will automatically apply the action recommended by Kaspersky Lab’s experts when a dangerous object is detected. For malware objects this action is Disinfect. Delete if disinfection is not possible, for suspicious objects – Skip.’
The first answer is pretty much right. But just as a side note. Kaspersky isn’t a “kiddie” AV like a lot of people on here are use to. Most of the folks here are use to AV’s that will lock up the bad file in a vault. Not so with Kaspersky. Kaspersky kicks a.s.s. When it finds a virus it doesn’t lock it up or disinfect it like the others do. It deletes it. The only time you will see Kaspersky try to disinfect is when your computer is so infected that if it tries to delete it it will take a damaged system file with it. Which might cause a crash. But if you have backed up your system well enough you can go ahead and let Kaspersky completely delete the infected file. Then all you have to do is run a recovery and replace the file that Kaspersky deleted.
Last but not least’ Kaspersky in a no bullshyt AV. You have to learn how to use it. But once you have learned how to use it. You will not want nothing else.
rephrase ur question.. well i’ll answer frm wat i understood.. once kasp deletes a virus..it is stored in the quarantine folder.. the virus is not active therefore..
