If Installation Of Kaspersky Anti Virus Slows Down The Surfing And Download Speed?

hello people i wanted to know what effect does an antivirus have on the surfing speed or the download speed?? i am thinking of installing one but have experienced slow speeds compared to surfing without an antivirus…if it slows down to some extent….why does it? thank you

While it’s updating its data file it may slow your internet connection (it depends on the speed of the update and the speed of your connection).
While it’s scanning your hard drive it slows your entire computer, because the computer is spending a lot of time scanning every file on your hard drive.
