The 'K' icon flashes when any kind of scan is in progress.. The Warning icon shows when there might be an error (or your attention is required).. The rotating Globe shows when an update is in progress.. If you see a yellow mail icon with 'K' logo on it, that means there is a new version 'news' from Kaspersky.. If you see a mail icon on the 'K' logo itself.. that means some IM/Email is being scanned. If the 'K' logo in the tray appears to be grey (instead of red)... that means protection is disabled..
