Both WOT (Web of Trust), a free add-on for Mozilla Firefox, and McAfee Site Advisor, a free add-on for both Internet Explorer and other web browsers, indicate that this site is safe to download from.
Best of luck in removing remnants of AVG and successfully installing Kaspersky.

Both are top good products. It is tough to pick the best and In my point of view BitDefen AV requires more ram and lacks mail protection.But it is cheaper than Kaspersky.
Answer for ur 2nd questn:
if you are the person who browses internet frequently,plays online games,shops online,doing online business,downloads or uploads files then your AV alone is not enough for u. so go for Internet security!!!
